Flex Time
The University of Kansas provides flex time work schedules for its employees. Flex time is defined as any work schedule other than eight hours per day (with a 30 minute to 1 hour lunch) during a five day week. Flex time must be a set routine schedule with coverage provided for “core” operational hours as defined by the department. Flex time may be approved for early morning or late evening transportation schedules, child care, class or other compelling reasons, and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. An employee cannot make daily or weekly adjustments to their approved flex time schedule, but an adjustment may be permitted on occasion with prior approval of the supervisor.
