Precious is the Associate Director for Diversity Education and Social Justice Programs within the office and first joined the OMA staff in 2005. In her position, she is responsible for diversity and social justice training for faculty, staff and students on campus. This includes planning heritage month programs, Tunnel of Oppression, Colors of KU, Identities and various other programs that educate the community.
Precious earned her B.S. in Psychology and Sociology from Northwest Missouri State University in 2002, first in her family! She then received her M.S. in Counseling/Student Personnel from Emporia State University in 2004, again, first in her family! Precious is currently pursuing her Ed.D in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies in the School of Education here at KU. Precious was a TRIO participant (Upward Bound & Student Support Services) and is very passionate about increasing access to higher education for underrepresented populations, including low-income, first generation and/or students of color. When not at work, Precious enjoys reading, playing board games with her husband and playing with her two dogs Lucy & Dezi.
